Upon arrival to the Cagliari airport, you will pick up your rental car and drive the short distance to downtown Cagliari, an attractive seaport with a rich history, mild climate and beautiful beaches. After checking in to your hotel, the remainder of the day is at your leisure. We suggest a drive to Poetto Beach. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and stop at a local restaurant for dinner on your own. 

 

DAY 2 - CAGLIARI

 

Following breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel by an English-speaking art historian for a privately guided walking tour of this interesting city. You will visit the castle with the imposing Tower of San Pancrazio, Tower of the Elephant and the Santa Maria Cathedral. Enjoy a stroll through the historical center along the old streets until you reach Bastione Saint Remy, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Following the tour, there will be time to shop for the famous corals and handmade gold items—perhaps you’ll have a chance to see them being crafted in the ancient workshops. This evening is at your leisure.

 

DAY 3 - CAGLIARI

 

Breakfast at your hotel is followed by a day at your leisure. We recommend a visit to the ancient Roman town of Nora, about 40 minutes from the city. Nora is located on a promontory dominated by a 16TH century Spanish tower. It rose as a commercial Phoenician port, and was next a Punic center before it began to flourish as Roman town. This city holds not only historical and archeological interest, but is a naturally beautiful spot on the coastline. 

 

DAY 4 - CAGLIARI

 

This morning you will drive to the Cagliari airport and drop off your rental car in time for your departure flight home.
