DAY 2 (SATURDAY) CATANIA

 

Arrive at Catania airport where you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome cocktail and a dinner at your hotel. 

 

DAY 3 (SUNDAY) CATANIA  - SYRACUSE – RAGUSA

 

Breakfast will be served daily at your hotels. Depart for Syracuse and visit the archaeological area including the famous Paradise Quarry and the "Ear of Dionysius”. Continue to the island of Ortigia, the historical center of the city, and tour the cathedral and Arethuse Fountain. Enjoy lunch on your own. Depart for Ragusa and with a tour of the city's center Ibla, and its Baroque palaces and churches. Relax with an apertif at a local cafe in the main square surrounding the dome. Dinner tonight is at your hotel in Ragusa.

 

DAY 4 (MONDAY) RAGUSA - CALTAGIRONE – PIAZZA ARMERINA - AGRIGENTO

 

Today you'll visit Caltagirone, famous for its Sicilian ceramics. Continue to Piazza Armerina and visit the world renowned Villa Romana del Casale with its well-preserved mosaics. Lunch at a local restaurant features local specialties. Depart for Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples. Dinner is at your hotel. Afterward you'll venture on an unforgettable tour of the Valley of the Temples illuminated at night.

 

DAY 5 (TUESDAY) AGRIGENTO – PALERMO – MONREALE 

 

Following a buffet breakfast, you’ll depart for Palermo, and check-in at the hotel. Time at leisure and lunch on your own. In the afternoon, proceed to Monreale to visit the Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world, and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-Norman style. Return to Palermo to visit the historical center, including the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel and the Royal Palace. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Palermo.

 

DAY 6 (WEDNESDAY) PALERMO – SEGESTA – ERICE – TRAPANI - PALERMO

 

Today, we'll visit Segesta and admire the Doric temple and ampitheatre. Continue to the medieval, hilltop village of Erice and stroll its small and characteristic streets. Afterward there's free time for lunch on your own. Continue to Trapani to glimpse the salt windmills that are used today. Dinner is at a local restaurant in Palermo and is followed by a tour of the city at night.

 

DAY 7 (THURSDAY) PALERMO – CEFALÚ - PARCO DEI NEBRODI  - TAORMINA 

 

Depart for Cefalù and visit the Norman-style Cathedral. Enjoy a walk through the small village's streets and a taste of delicious, homemade ice cream. Continue to Nebrodi Park and stop at the Miraglia Forest for lunch with a typical Sicilian menu. Continue to Cesarò, Randazzo, and visit the north end of Etna Park with its indescribable landscape. Arrive in Taormina. Dinner tonight at your hotel.

 

DAY 8 (FRIDAY) TAORMINA

 

After breakfast the day is yours to relax, shop in this enchanting resort town or, weather conditions permitting, to take an optional excursion to Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano. Farewell dinner served at your hotel.

 

DAY 9 (SATURDAY) TAORMINA - USA 

 

Transfer to the Catania airport in time to board your departure flight.
