Reservation Payments & Package Prices

PACKAGE PRICING: All prices quoted are per person based on double occupancy. Single supplements apply. Our prices include air-and-land packages and are quoted in U.S. dollars. Land prices are guaranteed against any fluctuation in the rate of exchange if fully paid by May 31, 2007. After this period, Visit Italy Tours reserves the right to adjust the rates accordingly. Also Visit Italy Tours reserves the right to pass on any increases received from hotels, ground transportation companies, government taxes, or other similar services. Air fares are subject to change but can be guaranteed when paid in full. A full refund will be made to passengers not wishing to pay increases provided that the passenger’s written cancellation is received by Visit Italy Tours within 5 days after price increase notification.

RESERVATION PAYMENTS: A deposit of $300 per person is required at the time of booking: Escorted and Mediterranean cruises $400. Plus any additional deposits that may be requested by Hotels, Train, Cruise lines or Airlines once we have received their confirmation. Reservations will be confirmed only after receipt of deposit. Full and final payment is due 60 days prior to departure for INDEPENDENT TOURS.

For MEDITERRANEAN CRUISES AND ESCORTED TOURS full and final payments are due 60 days prior to departure. If deposits are not received in time Visit Italy Tours reserves the right to cancel the booking. (Late booking: reservations made within 35 days of departure are subject to an additional $25.00 booking fee per person, plus any costs to insure timely document delivery).

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Tour documents are sent out three to four weeks prior to departure date, provided payment in full has been received. Reservations made within 35 days of departure date are subject to additional costs incurred for timely document delivery.

Package Details/Exclusions

PASSPORTS: A valid passport is required of all tour participants for travel outside of the USA.

VISAS: Non U.S. citizens must consult with the Italian consulate to determine if any visa is required. Securing any required visas is the responsibility of the tour participant.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Accommodations are classified by using government ratings, where available. Accommodations are based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with private bath or shower. A single room may be provided, if available, at an additional supplement. In addition, rooms are assigned upon arrival based on current availability and may vary in size, amenities and location.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE: Travelers with any disability requiring special attention must be reported to Visit Italy Tours at the time the reservation is made. Visit Italy Tours will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but it not responsible in the event it is unable to do so, nor is it responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. Motorcoaches outside of North America are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, and getting on and off motor coaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified companion must accompany travelers who need such assistance.

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Porterage is not included in any of the tour programs, unless specifically stated. If a tour program provides for porterage, it is restricted to one suitcase only. Due to limited coach capacity, this single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30"x18"x10" and weight not exceeding 60 lbs. (27 kg). An additional charge will be made per traveling day if a second piece of baggage is carried, or if the suitcase exceeds the established weight and/or dimensions. A personal travel bag not exceeding 17"x14"x8", which should be taken care of by the owner at all times is permitted. No responsibility is accepted for loss of or damage to baggage or any of the passenger's belongings. International air carriers may also impose fees or require you to remove articles and put them in another bag if weight or size limits on checked or carry-on luggage is exceeded. Baggage insurance is recommended.

MEALS: All meals as indicated on itineraries are included. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners feature international and Italian chefs serving their specialties. In-flight airline meals are provided according to carrier standards.

SIGHTSEEING: During holidays some sights such as museums may be closed or unavailable for visits. Optional excursions are offered. Your local host/hostess will advise you of the optional excursions available, all of which must be purchased locally.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Is provided by private, air conditioned motorcoach or other conveyance as specified in the package description.

EXTENDED STAYS: Visit Italy Tours packages are designed to be fully customizable. VIT allows extension on all our tour packages and the extension is subject only to any additional costs that may be incurred by airfare, hotels, private transfers, etc.

NOT INCLUDED: Transportation between home city and airport or porterage at U.S. gateways, weekend surcharges on airline fares, airport taxes, fuel surcharges, custom fees, immigration fees, agricultural fees, and any other charges/fees imposed at airports, passport and visa fees. Also phone calls, laundry service and items of a personal nature, or sightseeing, services or meals other than those specifically mentioned in the respective package page.

INSURANCE: Health, accident, baggage and trip cancellation/interruption insurance is strongly recommended and available. You have the option to accept or refuse it. A separate payment must be issued for the insurance coverage. Click here for further details.

Cancellation Policy and Reservation Changes

CANCELLATION POLICY
INDEPENDENT TOURS: Refund will be made in full up to 90 days prior to departure, less a $100.00 per person administrative fee. For cancellations made 89-45 days prior are subject to an administrative fee of $300.00 per person. Cancellations received 44-31 days prior to departure are subject to 10% of the total tour price (per person) or 600.00 (per person) whichever is greater plus any additional penalties that may be imposed by the hotel/s, trains, airlines and cruise lines. (if applicable). Cancellations received 30-8 days prior to departure are subject to 20% of the total tour price (per person) or $1000.00 (per person) whichever is greater plus any applicable penalties imposed by the hotels, trains, airlines and cruise lines (if applicable). Cancellations received from 7 days prior to departure or for no-show are subject to 100% penalties.- No refunds.

ESCORTED TOURS: Refund will be made in full up to 90 days prior to departure, less $150.00 per person administrative fee. For cancellations made 89-45 days prior to departure are subject to and administrative fee of $400.00 per person. Cancellations received 44-31 days prior to departure are subject to 25% penalty (per person) of the total tour package. Cancellations received 30-8 days prior to departure are subject to 50% penalty (per person) of the total tour package. Cancellations received 7 days prior to departure or for no-show are subject to 100% penalties. NO REFUNDS.

MEDITERRANEAN CRUISES: Refund will be made in full up to 90 days prior to departure, less $150.00 per person administrative fee. Cancellations received 89-45 days prior to departure are subject to an administrative fee of $400.00 per person. Cancellations received 44-31 days prior to departure are subject to 35% penalty (per person) of the total air-cruise-land package. Cancellations received 30-8 days prior to departure are subject to 50% penalty of the total air –cruise-land package.

Cancellations received 7 days prior to departure or for no-show are subject to 100% penalties. NO REFUNDS.

Above fees do not include cancellation fees which are imposed by hotels, trains, airlines or cruise lines. NO EXCEPTIONS to these terms and conditions will be made and we strongly suggest that passengers secure appropriate insurance through their travel agents or through VIT.

RESERVATION CHANGES: Due to the expenses incurred in making changes, a $35 per person fee will be assessed for each change made up to 7 days before departure on bookings. Thereafter, no changes may be made.

Limits on Visit Italy Tours Responsibility

CLAIMS: No claim will be considered and no action will lie against Visit Italy Tours unless a typewritten Notice of claim is received by registered mail by Visit Italy Tours within 3 weeks of the completed tour. No refunds will be made for unused services once travel arrangements have commenced. Typewritten claims must be received within 3 weeks after scheduled return date by registered mail.

AIRLINE RESPONSIBILITY: The carriers concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their conveyances. The airline passenger tickets, when issued, shall be the sole contract between airline and buyer/passenger of these tickets.

LIMITS TO VISIT ITALY TOURS RESPONSIBILITY:
This program is arranged by Visit Italy Tours. Visit Italy Tours has made the travel arrangements as an intermediary or agent for the transportation carrier and other suppliers of services connected with the package, all or which are independent contractors. Visit Italy Tours in no way owns or operates the vehicles or facilities to be used with the packages, and assumes no responsibility for the negligent acts and/or omissions of these independent contractors, their employees, agents or representatives. All bookings are accepted subject to the conditions imposed by these independent contractors and Visit Italy Tours will make no refund in the event of their delay cancellation, over booking, strike, or force majeure.
